I think my engineering training and background influenced me to like
hard edge modern art.
I have particularly liked the work of Piet
Mondrian because he used only primary colors.
Since I am color blind to some pastel colors and have great difficulty
mixing colors; his work really appeals to me.
I also enjoy a lot of Burgoyne Diller's work
because it reminds me of the teachings of Neoplasticism
created by Mondrain and his peers.
I began my abstract art painting career with my two "dog paintings".
After that, I experimented with other mediums and subjects inspired by
Mondrain along with other shapes I liked, such as triangles, diagonals, and
a few circles.
Many of my early paintings were destroyed in a house fire in 1982.
Undaunted, I picked up and began painting again.
By then, I had learned a few techniques with more traditional mediums.
This year, I began to electronically recreate many of my paintings to
include them on these web pages.
This opened a whole new venture to me; here to fore, I would make
pencil sketches of ideas I want to paint in the future.
Now I can electronically create them and work out multiple "what ifs"
until I am satisfied.
I have included several of these ideas here to document them until I
retire from my "day time" job and I will have more time to pursue painting
these subjects.
